Amy Hart talks about taking her son to hospital while on holiday
Love Island’s Amy Hart and boyfriend Sam Rason had been celebrating her 31st birthday, only to suffer a scare when her young son suddenly developed “symptoms” which “could have been serious”.
Confessing all to her one million followers in an Instagram Story on Tuesday, the reality star told of how her family holiday descended into a nightmare due to four-month-old Stanley’s plight.
She claimed a local pharmacy provided little help, leaving her feeling she should “err on the side of caution” and take her little boy for a medical check.
The day had started off with a lighthearted lie-in for mother and son, while Sam earnestly spent two hours “blowing up balloons” to honour Amy’s special day – but after that, things “didn’t go to plan”.

“We started to get a little bit worried about some stuff with Stanley so we took him to hospital,” she explained.
The TV star, who appeared on Love Island back in 2019 alongside the likes of Molly-Mae Hague and Amber Gill, reported it was “scary” when she was separated from her boyfriend during the health check.
“We went to the triage and they were like, ‘Only one of you can come through’, so I had to go in on my own,” she confided.
Amy added: “The symptoms he had could be something normal but could’ve been something serious.

“We took him to the pharmacy the day before. They didn’t really look at him and they were like, ‘Yeah that’s fine’.”
However, after speaking to others at home in the UK and fearing that his symptoms weren’t “run of the mill”, she and Sam decided not to take any chances.
The relieved mum then concluded that her son is now back to his usual self, revealing: “He’s fine, he’s happy, sleeping, eating, laughing, total Stanley!”
She also expressed her relief that her boyfriend was so “paperwork orientated” as he’d been the one to encourage her to get a GHIC [Global Health Insurance Card] to use abroad.
Urging followers to head to the government website and apply for their own free of charge, she explained that the insurance card was the first time the hospital had asked for, along with her son’s passport.
“If we hadn’t had [the card], I don’t know whether we’d have to pay or if it] would have taken longer [for Stanley] to be seen,” she explained.
Finally, she added: “I think the deal [with the GHIC cards] is, we pay what the locals pay, so we went to a public hospital that locals get free at point of service… [but] always, always get travel insurance before you go away!”
Meanwhile, the Love Island legend previously admitted that she is lacking her usual self-confidence since giving birth due to the “cellulite” she has developed.
Sharing her first bikini snap of the holiday, she declared that she was holding herself “accountable” for getting her body back in shape – and she added that she’d be sharing tips from her Portugal getaway, along with some restaurant recommendations, on her return.
