Kaitlyn Bristowe is out as a co-host of The Bachelorette after two seasons of guiding Katie Thurston and Michelle Young on their journey for love. ABC has pulled from their stable an existing host for the newest season of the reality series, which will employ the ultimate twist where two women will vie for love simultaneously. Who will replace Bristowe and her former co-host Tayshia Adams for The Bachelorette season 19?
Kaitlyn Bristowe is a ‘Bachelorette’ fan-favorite
Bristowe was a contestant on the 19th season of The Bachelor. She was eliminated in week 9 in an attempt to win Chris Soules’s heart.
Bristowe later won the lead in The Bachelorette‘s 11th season alongside Britt Nilsson. However, the male competitors voted for Bristowe to remain on the first night, and Nilsson went home.
Bristowe found love with Shawn Booth. However, they ultimately broke up in 2018 after three years of dating.
After Chris Harrison exited the series in Feb. 2021, Bristowe and Adams were named co-hosts of The Bachelorette.
Kaitlyn will not return to helm the newest season of the ABC dating series
Bristowe confirmed that she would not return to The Bachelorette during an episode of her podcast Off the Vine.
“I’ve been getting a lot of questions, whether or not I’m being on the next Bachelorette season, so I thought I would just quickly touch base on it,” Bristowe explained.
“I saw at the end of the finale that Jesse [Palmer] was announcing the two bachelorettes, and he said he would be by their side for that,” she said.
“So, I guess spoiler alert: I’m not coming back. I think Jesse’s amazing. He’ll be a great host, and I hope he helps Gabby [Windey] and Rachael [Recchia] in any way that he can.”
Kaitlyn Bristowe has an exciting and busy year ahead
Bristowe recently participated in the Dancing with the Stars Live Tour. She won a mirrorball in season 29.
She admitted while she wanted to be there for Windey and Recchia throughout their process, she believes her time is better served taking care of her own personal and business matters.
“I want to support Gabby and Rachael and be there for them so bad. I think it makes sense to have a woman there for them,” she said.
“But I also want to prioritize being at home with Jason and the [dogs] and start planning my wedding and catching up on my businesses.”
“So, hashtag blessing in disguise, I guess,” she continued.
“There’s a lot of exciting things coming up in the next few months, and it all just feels very overwhelming. But I guess it’s that saying like, you can have it all, but you can’t have it all at once. I will be sad, though I want to be there to support them. That’s the update.”
Bristowe is planning her wedding to Jason Tartick, hosting her podcast Off the Vine, and running her Spade & Sparrows wine company.
