Piers Morgan, 56, has revealed that Simon Cowell, 61, didn’t hold back when they reunited at the the Derby recently. The stars, who worked together on both Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent, saw each other for the first time in a while, due to lockdown, at Epsom Races alongside their partners, Celia Walden and Lauren Silverman.
Speaking about their meeting, Piers admitted Simon didn’t hesitate in mocking him over his exit from Good Morning Britain.
Piers left the ITV show in March after his explosive rant about Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey sparked 57,000 Ofcom complaints.
Simon cheekily brought the incident up to a waitress at the glamorous event, saying “This is Piers, he used to be on TV,” while the outspoken journalist ventured into his suite.
However, Piers was quick to fire back at the music mogul, adding: “I did, yes.
“I was on a show called Britain’s Got Talent when it used to get 20 million viewers…”
“TOUCHÉ!” The talent show judge replied.
Piers admitted in his latest Daily Mail Event column that the pair then continued to trade swipes at each other throughout the course of the day.
After Piers spotted Simon grabbing a “gigantic wad of £20 notes” to place his bets at Epsom, he asked: “Have your credit cards been declined or something?”
Simon didn’t take too kindly to Piers’ words, as he issued a brutal dig at him being “unemployed” after leaving his hosting role on GMB.
Simon fired back: “No, my credit’s fine, thanks Piers.
“I’m still employed, unlike some I could mention…’
It comes after the presenter infamously stormed off the ITV show’s set following a debate with co-star Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle’s claims about her time in the Royal Family.

The host sparked backlash from GMB viewers when he suggested he didn’t believe the Duchess of Sussex when she said she was suicidal while working as a senior member of the Royal Family in the UK.
Meghan also complained about Piers’ words to both ITV and Ofcom.
Piers has now hinted he would be more than willing to return to the programme to revive its ratings.
The outspoken star recently pointed out how ratings have dropped by nearly 75 per cent since his final show in March.
After hearing that the show has reportedly been looking for a female presenting partner to join Susanna Reid, Piers quipped he would have to identify as a woman to “appease the woke brigade” in order to get his job back.
He penned: “Good Morning Britain’s tumbling ratings have plunged to their lowest ever level as just 451,000 people tuned in to Wednesday’s show with comedian Adil Ray sitting in my old chair.
“Newspaper reports today suggest ITV want Susanna Reid to have a female presenting partner to stop the rot.
“If it appeases the woke brigade, I’m prepared to identify as a woman to get the ratings back to the peak of 1.9million where I left them.”
