I’m A Celeb star winces in pain at Soccer Aid training injury amid ‘tough days’

Former I'm A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star Scarlette Douglas was seen wincing in pain during a trip to a physio to treat the injury she sustained during training for a Soccer Aid football match.

The A Place in the Sun presenter, 36, tore her left calf a few weeks ago whilst training for the charity match, and she's been sharing her "road to recovery" with fans ever since.

Describing the moment the injury happened, Scarlette said: "The minute I felt my calf ping, like an elastic band, I took my weight off it, got home and iced it."

She told her followers: "Remember if you ever injure yourself RICE = Rest, Ice, Compress and Elevate," as she revealed that her brother was a physio that had worked with plenty of footballers.

A few days later, Scarlette shared a video of her MRI scan process, as she insisted that her injury would not stop her playing at the Soccer Aid match at The Old Trafford on 11 June, 2023.

In the MRI scan post, she wrote: "Remember, this is a minor setback for a major comeback, and trust me when I say no matter what, I will be fit enough to play at least do 5/10 minutes on that Old Trafford Pitch".

Scarlette's latest post, which came earlier this week, saw her making her second trip to a physiotherapy clinic, as she shared a video montage with a voiceover.

She could be seen wincing as her physiotherapist worked on her, although she bravely smiled through it.

In the caption, Scarlette wrote: "Thanks for all of your messages checking in to see how I’m getting on! Slowly but surely and honestly quite painfully, I’m getting through it.

"I had my second session with Colin at the @thelewinclinic this week and as much as I’ve progressed since last week, certain exercises are really showing me just how far of a journey I still have to go.

"My emotions have been all over the place; I’m a positive person but there have been some rough and tough days over the past few weeks, alas, I’m determined not to let it get me down and I know I’ll come out on top!

"Whatever it is you’re struggling with at the minute, remember it’s only temporary and positive mental attitude will help go a long way."

On her Instagram stories, Scarlette could be seen rounding the corner without the use of crutches as she threw her hands up in the air in celebration.

Over the top of the snap, she commended the clinic for "having me walking" three weeks after the sustained the injury.
