Dancing on Ice: John Barrowman rates Graham Bell’s skate
Dancing On Ice 2021 contestant Graham Bell, 55, has revealed he was told by production that he is not allowed to “undo his onesie too far” while skating on the ITV show. The former Olympic skier admitted he was keen to unfasten his costume slightly as he struggled with overheating during rehearsals with his professional skating partner Karina Manta last week.
However, Graham was promptly informed by ITV bosses that making any big changes to his outfit was against the rules despite his discomfort.
The star explained: “I was told by production that I couldn’t undo my onesie too far, that was the one thing that they did say to me.
“In a dress rehearsal, I came down to the stop and I just undid it, and I was like [gasping] ‘God I’m hot, I’m hot’!
“And they were like, ‘No, no, you can’t do that, you’re only allowed to undo it to here and that’s it, you can’t pull it down’!”

Graham went on to open up on the issues he faced while practicing his routine, which led him to expose more of his skin than the producers would have liked.
He recalled: “Beforehand, I was skating, I was warming up with it down and I was kind of like waiting to go on and stomping about like Russell Crowe in Gladiator.”
Graham went on to admit he developed a secret strategy to stay cool while working up a sweat during rehearsals.
Unfortunately for the sportsman, his method wasn’t too successful.
He added while speaking to the Daily Mirror on an Instagram live interview this afternoon: “I reached down and took a whole handful of snow off the ice because when you skate on it, it kind of cuts up and they call it snow.
“It’s not real snow, it’s kind of ice crystals.
“But I took some of that snow and put it on the back of my neck and I was like, ‘Okay, cool myself down a bit’.
“And then pulled the onesie over and zipped it up, but then just boiled!”

Graham will return to the reality show on Sunday for musicals week.
The star divulged that he’ll be skating to a song from Grease.
Graham also gave an update on his former professional skating partner Yebin Mok.
It comes after the skier accidentally injured Yebin after she landed on his skate during a fall.
Karina then stepped in and will work with Graham until Yebin has fully recovered.
He said while discussing the situation: “I just spoke to Yebin today, the stitches are out which is great news and she’s been working so hard on her rehab and doing a lot of tough physio and rehab on it.
“As soon as they give her the all clear to put skates on, I think she’ll just put skates on and hopefully will be up and running straight away.
“Fingers crossed, and as long as we stay in the show, I’ll be able to get back together with Yebin.”
