A small child reached ‘tipping point’ earlier today when Good Morning Britain host Ben Shephard accidentally tripped the 5-year-old up as he reached the finish line of a mini-mile race.
The star self-deprecatingly posted a video of the unfortunate moment on his Instagram page.
Ben was holding ribbon to mark the finishing line of the race but at the crucial moment he lost his grip on it and the young lad, named Noah, became entangled in it and crashed to the ground.
Ben wrote: “So You’re 5 years old, run the Ealing mini mile in 8mins win the race only to be tripped up on the finish line by an idiot with a giant winners tape,”
“Not sure I’ll be invited back next year after this. Fortunately the amazing Noah #ealingminimile wasn’t hurt. What a little legend!”
“Good luck to all the runners – fortunately I can’t hurt anyone else!”
Ben later shared a snap of himself together with Noah and his mum – who were all smiles so clearly no lasting harm had been done.
