Ellie Goulding has shared a sweet video full of never-before-seen clips of her pregnancy, which she joked was a ‘unexpected side project’.
The singer, 34, welcomed her first child – a son called Arthur Ever Winter Jopling – with husband Caspar Jopling, 29, on April 29.
Ellie shared the video, which was captured by her and Caspar during lockdown, joking: ‘dropped a BIG unexpected side project this year, think it might be the greatest yet- shoutout to Mother Nature for the collab of all collabs. Music by @tshamusic.’
In the clip, Caspar can be heard telling Ellie: ‘Rub your tummy’ before she unzips her coat and he adds: ‘You can barely see it.’
The couple also shared footage of their baby scan as well as Caspar cradling Ellie’s stomach as she sits on his lap.
The Burn star also documented her pregnancy exercise regimen, showing her working out in the gym, swimming and on an exercise bike.
The compilation ends with some shots of Ellie pushing Arthur in his pram and cuddling him in bed after the little one was finally born.
Arthur’s birth was announced last month by Caspar on Instagram, as he shared a photo of a bunch of flowers, writing: ‘Mum and baby both healthy and happy 🙂 Extremely grateful.
‘I don’t ever address the public attention that comes with Ellie’s job, but during this magical and personal moment we would really appreciate being able to enjoy our privacy – Thank you x.’
Thanks in part to lockdown, the couple had managed to keep Ellie’s pregnancy secret until she was 30 weeks, with her revealing the happy news in Vogue magazine in February.
Ellie told the publication: ‘That was not the plan. The thought of getting pregnant didn’t seem like it could be a reality.
‘Becoming pregnant kind of made me feel human. I want a better word than womanly, [but]—I have curves I’ve never had before. I’m enjoying it. My husband’s enjoying it.’
