Coronation Street legend Julie Goodyear looks in good spirits as she is pictured for the first time since revealing her dementia diagnosis.
The 81-year-old actress and husband Scott Brand joined an Alzheimer’s Society Memory Walk.
Julie, who played Bet Lynch between 1966 and 2003, was in a wheelchair.
Breaking the news in June, Scott, 55, said they sought medical advice after Julie became forgetful.
Speaking at the walk in Heaton Park, Manchester, on Sunday, he said the pair had received “amazing” support from the Alzheimer’s Society.

He added: “We want to make sure that anyone else who has been impacted by a dementia diagnosis knows they are not alone.
“We know that one in three of us born today will go on
to develop dementia, and so many more families, friends and carers will be affected
as a result.
“Julie is now living with Alzheimer’s, not suffering with it – and that’s a big difference.
“Calling these ‘memory walks’ is most appropriate as memory is one of the things most affected, but Julie and I are also trying to make more memories together.”
