Celine Dion has revealed that she has been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS), which causes her muscles to tense uncontrollably.
The legendary singer, 54, addressed her fans via two videos posted to Instagram, in which she could be seen looking visibly emotional.
She opened up about her health diagnosis, for which there is no cure, as she said she is doing everything she can to minimise the symptoms she's experiencing.
She said: "Hello everyone, I'm sorry it's taken me so long to reach out to you. I miss you all so much and can’t wait to be on stage talking to you in person.
"As you know I’ve always been an open book and I wasn’t ready to say anything before but im ready now.
'I’ve been dealing with problems with my health for a long time and its been really difficult for me to face my challenges and to talk about everything that I’ve been going through.
"Recently I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called the stiff person syndrome which affects 1 in a million people
"While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all the spasms I’ve been having."
She continued: 'Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal chords to sing the way im used to.
'It hurts me to tell you today that this means I won’t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February."
Celine went on to share that she is being helped and supported by a team of doctors and her "precious children", whilst also revealing that she is "working hard" with her sports medicine therapist to "build back my strength".
She ended her message thanking her fans for their support.
Her fans rushed to send her their best wishes, flooding the comments section of the video.
Celebrity makeup artist Mikey Phillips wrote: "Love You Iconic Queen [love heart emoji] we will be waiting for you xxxx"
Another fan echoed his sentiments as they wrote: "We love you celine! And will be waiting for you when you’re ready."
A third person added: "We love you queen. Your health always comes first. We understand. Heal and come come back better."
A fourth commented: "We love you, Celine!!! You are amazing!!! I hope you get better soon!!!"
Celine is one of the world's most iconic singers, loved for hits such as My Heart Will Go On and The Power of Love.
