Billy Idol has revealed that he continues to undergo treatment amid his ongoing battle with a sinus infection.
“Medical update correction: I have to take a further 2 types of antibiotics to beat this MRSA sinus infection no intravenous just by mouth… 2 more weeks to go yuk! Still I should b ok after this…” he tweeted.
In early February, Idol pulled out of the Freedom tour with Journey due to a persistent sinus infection.
“I am absolutely gutted. I haven’t felt like myself since mid-December with a sinus infection that won’t respond to medication. It has worsened to the point where I have no choice but to have a procedure that I expect will put me on a path to recovery soon,” Idol had said in a statement at the time.
Idol then had sinus surgery on February 16, telling fans two days later that he was “feeling well.”
On February 23, Idol said that he’d completed “part two of my sinus surgery today – a procedure to remove infection and blood clots. It turns out I had a MRSA infection, resistant to most antibiotics.”
Idol required IV treatment when these initial antibiotics failed to clear things up.
