- READ MORE: Big Brother 2023: Who has been evicted so far?
The live final of Big Brother 2023 is just days away, with fans eagerly waiting to see which housemate will scoop the £100,000 prize money.
After six weeks of nominations, tears and drama, the iconic reality show will come to an end on November 17, with the final batch of housemates bidding farewell to their home for good.
ITV announced last year that they were bringing back Big Brother after it was axed by Channel 5 in 2018, and since hitting screens last months it hasn’t disappointed.
It’s no surprise that Big Brother’s return has produced its fair share of dramatic moments, including rows, nomination twists and even a love triangle.
So, as Big Brother fans count down to the grand final, here is a look-back at some of the most dramatic moments of the series so far…
Trish and Paul’s ‘bullying’ row
At odds: Tensions had been brewing in the house after Trish and Noky’s killer nominations, and things boiled over during a party when Trish accused Paul of being a ‘bully’
Explosive: The row was first teased during a live feed of the house on Late and Live, and speculation was rife about the fallout after that evening’s live feed was cancelled
Tensions had been brewing in the house for several days after Trish and Noky’s killer nominations twist, and things finally boiled over during a party to celebrate Yinrun’s completion of her secret mission.
After failing to receive an invitation to the party, Paul opted to lash out by throwing cling film from the balcony and even flashed his bare bottom for the camera before turning his attention on Noky.
Branding her ‘strange’ and questioning why she was staring at him, Paul’s behaviour sparked fury from Trish, who accused him of being a ‘bully.’
The row was first teased during a live feed of the house on Late and Live, and speculation was rife about the fallout after that evening’s live feed was cancelled.
While Paul did clear the air with Trish before they faced eviction, it was too little too late as he was booted out of the house in a double elimination.
The love triangle
Sweet: From their first meeting, Henry and Jordan formed a fast friendship, leading some viewers to question whether it could blossom into a house romance
Look at that! The duo set tongues wagging when they shared several kisses
Three’s a crowd: But two weeks in, Jordan began to show an interest in Matty, despite the fact he had a boyfriend on the outside
Back and forth: Admitting he had developed feelings for Jordan, Henry broke down in tears when the lawyer ignored him for an entire day
Close: Luckily Jordan saw the error in his ways and profusely apologised to Henry, making it clear that he valued his friendship more than any other in the house
By far the defining story of Big Brother 2023, viewers have been gripped by a dramatic love triangle that unfolded between lawyer Jordan, doctor Matty and food critic Henry.
Jordan and Henry formed a fast friendship soon after entering the house, with the pair warming viewers’ hearts with their sweet kisses and hilarious chats.
Henry struggled to hide the fact that he had formed a ‘strong connection’ with Jordan, with viewerd questioning whether their close bond had taken a romantic turn.
But two weeks in, Jordan began to show an interest in Matty, despite the fact he had a boyfriend on the outside.
The pair began to flirt outrageously, despite multiple attempts to break things off, and after a week of watching their chemistry develop, Henry emotionally confessed he had developed feelings for Jordan.
While it was clear that Jordan deeply cared about Henry, he viewed their relationship as strictly platonic, and even went as far as breaking off any contact with Matty to salvage their friendship.
Viewers hoped that this would bring an end to the love triangle saga, but Jordan then proceeded to ignore Henry for an entire day after overhearing him and Matty having a private conversation about him.
It lead to the heart-wrenching moment that Henry broke down in tears in the Diary Room, admitting it felt like he’d lost his ‘best friend’ in the house.
Luckily Jordan saw the error in his ways and profusely apologised to Henry, making it clear that he valued his friendship more than any other in the house, and vowing to be more considerate of his feelings moving forward.
Viewers will have to wait and see whether it’s smooth sailing from here, and if the fan-favourite pair will land a spot in the final.
Kerry’s chants ring through the house
Emotional: Kerry broke down in tears after hearing the crowd chant ‘Get Kerry Out!’ following the second eviction
Previously a fixture at any live eviction, this year’s Big Brother failed to bring back the famous crowd chants of years past… until the second eviction.
As Zak exited the house, the house were stunned to hear the crowd chant ‘Get Kerry Out!’ with the woman herself later breaking down in tears in the Diary Room.
Kerry admitted she didn’t ‘really know what to do now’.
She said in the Diary Room: ‘They were chanting ‘get Kerry out’ and it sounded like there was about 50,000 people.
‘It just felt a bit rubbish and you think, oh god, what’s my son going through? What’s my family going through?’
She added that her not being a ‘big Zak fan’ could be the reason that Big Brother fans were not ‘going to be very happy’ with her, at one point pondering if the chanting could have come from Zak’s family.
‘I’m hoping it’s that,’ Kerry told Big Brother as she got tearful, adding: ‘It’s really tough.’
Hallie is branded a ‘diva’
Oh dear! After the house failed their VIP camping task, Hallie was branded a ‘diva’ by her fellow housemates for her over-the-top reaction
Oops! Hallie’s behaviour continued to cause a stir when she was sent to jail by Big Brother for breaking the house rules around discussing nominations
Hallie was lauded by viewers when she openly revealed to her housemates that she was transgender, but began to ruffle feathers just days later with her over-the-top behaviour.
After failing their VIP camping task, Jenkin was left fuming at Hallie for her ‘diva’ antics, adding he felt like she is trying to ‘play up for the cameras.’
Reflecting on her reaction to the shopping task from Monday night’s episode, Hallie says: ‘Guys I just want to say something. I had a bit of a diva moment yesterday and I want to apologise.
‘Because it’s happened a few times now and yesterday was the breaking point of all divaness.
‘I’m just going to from now on sit back and observe and take a chill pill and realise we’re all in this together and I don’t need to act like that. So, sorry guys.’
However, speaking to Chanelle in the garden about her apology, Jenkin says: ‘She acts like dram and that doesn’t impress anyone.
‘And I think when she goes off like this, for some people that’s entertainment and that’s what I find the most hardest thing is I feel like a lot of it is for show and I find it hard to have a conversation with her because she’s constantly stepping in the camera.’
Hallie’s behaviour continued to cause a stir when she was sent to jail by Big Brother for breaking the house rules around discussing nominations, so it was no surprise when she received multiple nominations for eviction.
Going head-to-head with Dylan and Trish, she became the third housemate to be evicted.
Jenkin’s brutal start to house life
Honest: Mere minutes after moving into the house, Jenkin’s Big Brother experience kicked off on a sour note
Caught out: After a series of party games, Jenkin was denied hot water and had his suitcase blown up, before unknowingly nominating another housemate for eviction
Big Brother’s return to screens had been hotly anticipated by fans after a five-year hiatus, with 16 new arrivals heading into the brand new house.
And mere minutes into the series, Big Brother set the stage with some hilarious party games, kicking off Jenkin’s time in the house on a sour note.
During a rendition of musical statues, Yinrun, a customer support agent from China, won the game, with a prize of breakfast in bed, and she chose Jenkin to cook and deliver it to her.
The second game saw Jenkin lose a game of hide and seek and was told that he would ‘not receive hot water for the next 24 hours’.
After Big Brother announced: ‘Jenkin it’s cold showers for you’, the bartender said: ‘That’s sly as f***.’
Later on in the night 40-year-old NHS manager Kerry, from Essex, chose Jenkin as the housemate with ‘the most questionable dress sense’, which meant he would not receive his suitcase – before a video was shown of his suitcase being blown up.
He was later given a tub of ‘essential’ clothes in the diary room, and said he felt ‘guilty about the Olivia thing’, calling himself ‘public enemy number one’.
The third game of the ‘housewarming party’, Olivia, a dancer from Glasgow, was chosen by Jenkin, as the contestant he thought would be hardest to live with, telling her: ‘I don’t think we’ve gelled.’
As her punishment, Big Brother announced that Olivia would face the first public eviction.
Trish’s shock eviction
Surprise: In what has been deemed the most shocking exit in the show’s history, fan-favourite Trish was booted out of the house just a week before the final
In what has been deemed the most shocking exit in the show’s history, fan-favourite Trish was booted out of the house just a week before the final.
It came after she was embroiled in an ongoing spat with Chanelle after she broke the show’s rules regarding the discussion of nominations.
Trish was furious when it was revealed that Chanelle had planned to nominate her, with the rest of the house divided over the fallout, leaving the pair to go up against Olivia, Jenkin and Noky in a double eviction.
Many fans prayed that Trish would survive, and the crowd were even heard chanting ‘Trish for the win’ as the house waited to hear the eviction result.
However all were stunned when just seconds later it was revealed that Trish had been booted from the house, sparking uproar among viewers.
Farida and Kerry’s feud
Hitting out: The first week of Big Brother 2023 was defined by the bitter rivalry between makeup artist Farida and NHS manager Kerry
Savage! Kerry was also heard describing Farida as a “f****** idiot” due to her input during one of the tasks the contestants faced
The first week of Big Brother 2023 was defined by the bitter rivalry between makeup artist Farida and NHS manager Kerry.
From the start the pair failed to gel with Farida telling Kerry that she went by ‘energies and people’s vibes, and for some reason, I didn’t think I was gonna get on with her. I tried really hard’.
Farida discussed her online work in which she shares videos of makeup tips to her fans, Kerry feigned interest before seeming surprised her cast mate was able to garner a fanbase of her own.
Farida also sparked huge backlash by accusing Kerry of not getting involved in the physicality of the tasks.
During her visit to the Diary Room, Farida said: ‘Kerry is the lazy one. No help with the washing up, drying, cutting or with the vegetables. Yeah she might be proud she’s been promoted because she’s even higher than Middle Management now…
‘That title will make her feel extremely honoured however I hope it’s full of counting and rather than working her mouth, working her mindset, her brain, her hands’.
Kerry was also heard describing Farida as a “f****** idiot” due to her input during one of the tasks the contestants faced.
It was no surprise that both women were the subject of many housemates’ nominations, and they went head-to-head in the first live eviction of the series, with Farida given the boot.
Dylan and Trish’s row
Tense: The Big Brother house erupted with rows after the shocking Halloween twist, when a furious Dylan accused Trish of ‘black on black crime’
Rage: Trish then added to the other housemates: ‘He’s been running his mouth for a while, people didn’t know you were like this but I’ve known you’ve been like this for a while’
As Big Brother hit the halfway mark, Halloween brought the most shocking twist of the series so far, when Noky and Trish were tasked with delivering three killer nominations.
The pair were asked to choose three housemates that would face a backdoor eviction, and they chose, Kerry, Dylan and Olivia, leading the NHS manager to be evicted from the house.
After being saved by the public Dylan and Olivia returned to the house with Dylan immediately engaging in a furious row with Trish.
After storming back in he launched into the rant saying: ‘Two evictions in the same amount of days. What’s with the black on black crime?
‘Please explain yourselves right now because you’re smiling at me I don’t know what you’re smiling about! I never thought it would be the only two other black people in the house!’
Trish then shouted back: ‘So because you’re black we shouldn’t have nominated you?’
An enraged Dylan screamed in response: ‘You said ‘say it with your chest’, so what’s the problem?’
Trish retorted back: ‘You’re a big big man but you’re acting like a b***ch! You’ve been acting like a mug, have you seen yourself lately? It’s funny how you’ve just been acting up since you have been nominated!’
Dylan then said: ‘She’s talking shit she’s a p***y. You chat s**t!’
Trish then added to the other housemates: ‘He’s been running his mouth for a while, people didn’t know you were like this but I’ve known you’ve been like this for a while. You’re a pretender we see you!
‘You’re a liar and embarrassed because this is the second time that you’ve been nominated, you p***k. Fake bad boy.’
After things calmed down Trish sat with Matty who supported her and said he shouldn’t have made it a ‘black on black thing’.
Dylan and Trish did clear the air, but it would prove to be the DJ’s downfall, as he was evicted the following Friday.
Zak is accused of sexism
What did he say? During his two-week stint in the house, model Zak was caught up in a misogyny row over comments he made to fellow housemates Trish and Olivia
He said what? The war of words occurred when Olivia pointed out how much Zak was eating after he complained about the amount of food some other housemates were consuming
During his two-week stint in the house, model Zak was caught up in a misogyny row over comments he made to fellow housemates Trish and Olivia.
He was branded ‘sexist’ during the spat but he insists he was simply winding the pair up as he was bored.
The war of words occurred when Olivia pointed out how much Zak was eating after he complained about the amount of food some other housemates were consuming.
Attempting to defend the amount he was eating, Zak simply put it down to him being a ‘boy’.
As fellow housemate Dylan laughed at Zak’s comment Trish was left fuming, prompting Zak to joke: ‘My man ain’t going to stand there and take s**t off two women.’
Olivia warned: ‘Behave yourself.’
And Trish hit back: ‘That was very inappropriate. That was so sexist, that was sexism thriving in you.’
After leaving the house, Zak insisted he didn’t mean any harm by his remarks, telling MailOnline: ‘A lot of things that I say in there, a lot of small things and minor things can be taken out of context.
‘Just to make it clear, I love women, I’ve been raised by women, I respect women more than anything but I just like to have a little laugh when I get bored and there’s not much to do.
‘I start to wind people up and I knew they were biting so I just kept throwing them a bit of a nibble just to wind them up more and more and more.
‘But deep in there, you can speak to Trish when she comes out. She’ll say, ‘Me and Zak were like brothers’.
‘It was just minor banter and it just got taken out of context. That’s all it was, I was just having a laugh.’
