Ariana Grande was pretty busy this weekend absolutely slaying her Coachella performance, but she made sure to throw a very subtle Mac Miller tribute in her ensemble of ~lewks~ while she was at it.
While she was hanging out with *NSYNC at the festival, she wore a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey. Check out the picture above for the full outfit. Not only was Mac Miller from Pittsburgh, but he was also a serious Steelers fan. When he passed away, the team paid tribute to him on Twitter, and individual players gave him shoutouts.
James Conner, a running back on the team, wore cleats with Mac’s name on them after his passing. The team also played Mac’s songs during their first game back after the news broke.
Ari herself is from Florida, so it’s pretty unlikely that she just happened to become a Steelers fan without Mac’s influence, unless she really randomly decided to stan a team from another state. Totally possible, but not probable.
This definitely isn’t the first time Ari’s paid tribute to Mac since his passing in September. At the beginning of her Sweetener tour a few weeks ago, Mac’s music was playing in the stadium before Ariana took the stage. It made fans super emotional.
“Ariana Grande is playing Mac Miller right before her opening song for Sweetener tour rn and my heart can’t handle it SO MANY TEARS,” one tweeted. Another wrote “Aaaaand they’re playing Mac Miller at the Ariana Grande concert. Not emotional no no no not at all.”
BRB, crying at all of this. 💔
