Major Game of Thrones spoilers are coming! Go watch the show now! You could also just save yourself some time and heartache and read all about the ending here!
After six episodes that saw the near-end of the Dothraki, all living dragons, and humans, Game of Thrones is finally over. Turns out, everything led up to Bran Stark—of all people— ending up on the Iron Throne, Jon Snow going over the Wall, Daenerys Targaryen dying, Arya Stark going west, Grey Worm going from 0 to 100 real effing quick, and Sansa Stark ruling the North as the good lord (of light) intended. Now that the show is finally over, Sophie Turner gave an emotional tribute to Sansa, Thrones, and the fans, and it’ll legit move you to tears.
After the finale, Sophie, who has been a prime source of GoT reactions throughout the season (never forget the Arya “hop hop hopping” video), took to Instagram to share what the show and her character has meant to her over the past 10 years. She wrote, “Sansa, Thank you for teaching me resilience, bravery, and what true strength really is. Thank you [for] teaching me to be kind and patient and to lead with love.”
And despite them forgetting about a little thing called character development (sorry, not sorry), Sophie thanked the show for “the best life and drama lessons.”
Honestly, you just need to read it in full because I’m still not over Sansa actually becoming queen and can’t type through my happy tears. Here’s what she said:
Sansa, Thank you for teaching me resilience, bravery and what true strength really is. Thank you teaching me to be kind and patient and to lead with love. I grew up with you. I fell in love with you at 13 and now 10 years on.. at 23 I leave you behind, but I will never leave behind what you’ve taught me. To the show and the incredible people who make it, thank you for giving me the best life and drama lessons I could have ever asked for. Without you I wouldn’t be the person I am today. Thank you for giving me this chance all those years ago. And finally to the fans. Thank you for falling in love with these characters and supporting this show right through till the end. I’ll miss this more than anything.
