Emmerdale hints at a devastating future for Bob Hope after his split from Laurel Thomas

Emmerdale has hinted at a major downward spiral ahead for Bob Hope after he was dumped by Laurel Thomas in the show’s latest episodes.

Bob (Tony Audenshaw) has been left heartbroken after Laurel ended their relationship publicly at The Woolpack, losing her temper in front of their friends and neighbours.

When Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) caught Bob performing an embarrassing stripping routine at the pub, she was outraged that he’d behave like this on the birthday of her late husband Ashley.

After Bob tried to drag Laurel up to join in the fun, she angrily pushed him away and declared that they were over.

Bob later explained himself by revealing that The Woolpack’s stripper night was in aid of a dementia charity in tribute to Ashley, but Laurel pointed out deeper issues in their relationship – namely that they’re not compatible.

Once it became clear that Laurel wouldn’t be changing her mind on this, a lonely Bob was left to sleep over in The Woolpack as he had nowhere else to go.

Confiding in her father Doug back at Mulberry Cottage, Laurel said ominously: “He looked so crushed, dad. It’s just I honestly don’t know what he’s going to do. He’s got nothing, dad – he’s got absolutely nothing.”

Emmerdale spoilers for next week have already revealed that Bob’s woes will get worse when he overhears his other ex-partner Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop) slating him.

When Brenda confides in Doug about how she’ll never take Bob back and it’d be better for everyone if he left, she’s unaware that Bob is listening to her every word.

Feeling rejected by everyone around him, how will Bob move on from this?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
