Meghana dominates

Meghana Sajjanar continued to dominate the women’s air rifle finals, topping with 250.2, in the shooting National selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Monday.

After qualifying seventh, 0.2 points behind Olympian Ayonika Paul, Meghana pipped Himani Poonia by 0.7 points.

Qualification topper Shreya Agrawal was third. Shreya managed to top the youth women’s section and took the second spot in junior women’s final behind Himani Poonia.

In men’s rifle prone, Olympian Chain Singh beat Sushil Ghaley by 0.5 points to top the charts.

The results: 10m air rifle: Women: 1. Meghana Sajjanar 250.2 (624.1); 2. Himani Poonia 249.5 (626.0); 3. Shreya Agrawal 228.4 (627.4).

Junior women: 1. Himani Poonia 249.0 (626.0); 2. Shreya Agrawal 248.5 (627.4); 3. Kashika Pradhan 226.9 (622.3).

Youth women: 1. Shreya Agrawal 249.5 (627.4); 2. Heena Gohei 247.4 (621.3); 3. Rishika Kaim 225.8 (622.1).

50m rifle prone: Men: 1. Chain Singh 625.7; 2. Sushil Ghaley 625.2; 3. Nigam Prasad Parida 624.3.

Junior men: 1. Fateh Singh Dhillon 621.5; 2. Surya Pratap Singh 619.6; 3. Aman Chakravarthy Kishore 618.3.

25m standard pistol: Men: 1. Yogesh Singh 572; 2. Anirudh Sngh Rana 571; 3. Rajat Kumar Yadav 571. Junior men: 1. Sambhaji Patil 569; 2. Harsh Gupta 565; 3. Anish Bhanwala 565.
