Government grants NOC for B.Tech. courses in Robotics and Automation
Engineering aspirants will have the opportunity to apply for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Robotics and Automation that are being introduced for the first time in engineering colleges in the State.
The courses figure among the innovative and integrated dual degree courses granted provisional no-objection certificates by the government.
The move follows demands raised by certain self-financing colleges at a recent adalat conducted by Higher Education Minister K.T. Jaleel at the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technological University (APJAKTU). The university had subsequently recommended the approval of the courses.
The newly sanctioned courses include B.Tech. Robotics and Automation, and MCA Dual Degree (integrated) (60 seats each) in the Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam; B.Tech. Robotics and Automation (60 seats) in Toc H Institute of Science and Technology, Kochi; Bachelor of Design (60 seats) in the College of Architecture, Thiruvananthapuram; M.Tech. Robotics and Automation (60 seats) in Jyothi Engineering College, Thrissur; and B.Tech. Food Technology (60 seats) in the Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally.
While the courses have been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the colleges will be able to commence the programmes during the upcoming academic year after obtaining affiliation from the APJAKTU.
