Bharatiya Janata Party has requested the territorial administration to provide land for setting up a third campus of the Kendriya Vidyala in Puducherry.
BJP Puducherry unit president V. Saminathan in a statement said Kendriya Vidyalaya -1 functioning on Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research campus has become overcrowded. The two shift system followed by KV-1 was causing inconvenience to children and parents. The second shift ended only by around 6 p.m, he said.
The Ministry of Human Resource Development has agreed to construct another campus in Puducherry if the administration provided land. The government should seize the opportunity so that a third campus would come up in the Union Territory, he said.
