To mark the birth anniversary of Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman the Bankmen’s Film Society here is screening five of his works.
The films are: The Seventh Seal, Wild Strawberries, Persona, Cries and Whispers, and The Virgin Spring. They will be screened at 6 p.m. on July 13 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on July 14, at the Sports Council Hall.
Bergman was born on July 14, 1918, at Uppsala in Sweden and died on July 30, 2007, at Faro. Apart from making films, he had worked as director and producer on television, radio and in theatre.

The Magic Lantern
is widely read by students of cinema.
