A lot has changed for Hannah Brown. Just a year ago, she was best known as the girl who kind of did well in the Miss USA pageant and then she was the girl who kind of did well on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor.
Then, she was announced as the Bachelorette and things finally looked like they were turning around for Brown. But even with 30 men to choose from who were all vying for her heart, Brown still couldn’t find the right guy.
What happened on Brown’s season of ‘The Bachelorette’?
At the end of Brown’s season, she ended up choosing Jed Wyatt and the two got engaged. Unfortunately for Brown, Wyatt hadn’t been completely honest with her throughout their time together and actually had a girlfriend back home.
Once Brown found this out, she ended their engagement.
“I am not with Jed anymore,” she told the audience at The Bachelorette live finale. “The engagement is over, we are not together. That is not what I said yes to. When I said those things, the things that I said to him on my engagement date, I thought that was my day, and I feel like that was taken from me and how special that was, and it’s been really hard to gravel with that, but I know that what I got is not what I ever wanted for a life partner and love that is not built on a foundation of trust and honesty. I have grown so much, and I know I deserved more than that.”
Brown’s Instagram post
Recently, Brown posted on Instagram about how things were going for her.
“Honest policy: I’m struggling,” she wrote. “Life is so different. Since last August, I’ve been a pageant queen, a ‘Bachelor’ contestant, and the Bachelorette. I’ve been in love with multiple people, I got engaged, I broke off an engagement, and I shared it all with millions of people. My faith has been questioned by thousands who don’t know my heart, and my transparency with my decisions has labeled me promiscuous.”
“Simultaneously, I’ve become a role model for young women and started bigger conversations around faith, and sex. I’m living on my own for the first time and shuffling through this life of next steps with press, media, and opportunities galore. “
Mostly Brown missed her old life.
“I miss my friends and family that have watched my life explode,” she continued. “I feel guilty because I don’t have the time or emotional capacity to fill each of them in on my life right now. I can’t keep up with the people that matter most, because I can barely keep up with my own life right now. I am not complaining about this past year of adventures. The woman who has emerged would shock the mirror-image young girl from a year ago. I have so many blessings to be thankful for. However it’s uncharted territory for me, and it’s been hard to really process what the heck is going on.”
Fans were quick to comment on Brown’s post and show her some support.
“We are all still in your corner,” one person wrote. “Take your time, you’ve been through so much. Keep going, sister. It’s all in the plan. Love you.”
“We’ve got your back girl,” another person wrote. “Thanks for being you.”
Even Brown’s former competitor, Cassie Randolph, came to her aide.
“So much truth in this post!!” she wrote. “I could not have said it any better. Life is wild but beautiful. And so unexpected. It’s hard to complain because there is so much good, but it’s also easy to get overwhelmed. I think the biggest thing is searching for balance…Which is MUCH harder to find than one would think! Thanks for this nice little reminder and you’re doing such a great job with everything.”
