Stephanie Seymour considered crashing the runway at designer Dennis Basso’s show on Monday.
“I did have an urge to just get up and walk the runway,” said the supermodel, who was seated in the front row. “I could rock anything on that runway. It was all amazing.”
Basso picked Carol Alt as his muse to hit the catwalk at Cipriani 42nd Street.
“I was not mad that he did not pick me,” Seymour said. “What I should’ve done was just jump up and walk on the runway!”
Meanwhile, Alt told us of today’s crop of models: “I have met girls who did not feel like working who just did not want to be there, so I always ask, ‘Why did you take the job?’ Back in my day you could work one day and pay your rent so why show up unhappy? Even these young girls — they do not know what they have. Talk to me when you are 60: when you’ve got a body of work under you. What are you miserable about? This is the most amazing career you will ever have in your life.”
And as for any advice?
“Make yourself financially independent so you don’t have to worry about if a guy is going to buy you dinner, or make you sing for it.”
