Max Ehrich may be new to Netflix, but he’s not new to Hollywood.
Ehrich, 27, moved to Los Angeles when he was 16 years old with his then-girlfriend Sarah Hyland to achieve his dream of becoming an actor and is finally combining his love of music and film with the new streaming movie, “Walk Ride Rodeo.”
“I decided to move out with a girlfriend at the time and experience L.A. and I will say I think I had a privileged experience,” he recently told Page Six. “At first, I was living with my girlfriend at the time. She had done a Broadway show and the producer was kind enough to let us stay at their estate in Beverly Hills, but soon after that, I ended up living in a really, really sketchy apartment in Hollywood. So I got to see like the brightest side and then I got to get a hit of reality.”
Now, after many rejections and four Emmy nominations for his work on “The Young and the Restless,” he’s taking on Netflix and the movie theater versus Netflix debate.
“I do think that there is something really special about movie theaters and I hope that culture stays alive and I hope that we find some sort of balance between both,” he told us.
“I know a lot of people that can’t afford to go to the movie theaters around the world and so the fact that they get to stream these movies, especially a story like ‘Walk Ride Rodeo’ where you have someone who faced this challenge of being paralyzed and is still pursuing her dreams and is going around being a voice of inspiration, I think that people around the world should have access to that.”
Sherri Shepherd also appears in the flick.
