Liev Schreiber and his family spent Saturday helping to raise money for the family of late BBQ chef Jeff Michner, who died in May 2018 at age 36 following a sudden brain bleed.
Brooklyn hotspot Pig Beach, where Michner served as pitmaster and executive chef, hosted the Jeff Michner BBQ Benefit to help his widow and daughter with costs. Spies told Page Six that the “Ray Donovan” star, 51, attended the event with his kids, Sasha and Samuel Kai, girlfriend Taylor Neisen and some friends.
“His girlfriend was having a good time with his kids,” a spy told us. “She seems to have a good relationship with them. She and Liev weren’t being touchy feely but they looked happy together.”
A separate source told us, “No one bothered Liev and his family at all. He was just a regular guy having a good time with a group of people. Everyone left him alone.”
Schreiber, who we’re told was dressed casually in a white tee, and his group enjoyed all different types of food and enjoyed beers.
General admissions tickets cost $50, while VIP access was $150 per ticket. The event served BBQ food from all over the U.S., including from famous spots such as Nashville’s Peg Leg Porker and Big Bob Gibson BBQ of Decatur, Alabama.
On Sunday, Schreiber took his kids to a screening of Disneynature’s “Penguins.”
