While Khloé Kardashian was busy posting cryptic quotes on Instagram, her ex-husband and former NBA champ Lamar Odom wrote an emotional memoir all about how he cheated on her, was addicted to drugs, and gave up their joint income.
In Darkness to Light, Lamar opened up about their rocky marriage and said the newlywed stage was truly a happy time for him. According to him, it was pure “bliss” and money was flowing into their bank accounts like never before. He explained, “We were one of the most famous couples in Hollywood and we made more money together than we had individually.”
That didn’t last long, though, because he “could not handle the lethal cocktail of the spotlight, addiction, a diminishing career, and infidelity.” He added, “Oh, did I mention the paranoia, anxiety, depression….I couldn’t keep my d*ck in my pants or the coke out of my nose. Drug addicts are incredibly skilled at hiding their habit.”
Lamar also admitted that when Khloé would confront him about his issues, he’d get “defensive” and she’d “just drop it.” In 2015, Lamar’s addiction landed him in the hospital and near death following an overdose, and Khloé was right by his side even though their relationship was over at that point.
Ultimately, Lamar said everything he did “bothers me to this day. But regret is something we have to learn to live with.” Plus, he still wants to be “reacquainted” with Khloé and her family one day.
Khloé hasn’t commented on Lamar’s book, but she just posted some really emotional quotes on her Instagram Stories about how she prefers how the French say “I miss you” and that she still loves people even if she’d cross the street to avoid them.
