Ali Abbas Zafar on Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s pairing: They have tremendous unspoken chemistry – watch exclusive video | Bollywood Life

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif are all set to enthrall the audience this Eid with Bharat and the wait seems even longer now. The film Bharat, which is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, has been in the news ever since its inception and seems like the buzz is only growing stronger by the second, especially after the kickass trailer. Like that wasn’t enough, the makers dropped the songs, which are topping the charts as we speak, and we can’t wait for more. Needless to say, the timeless (it surely feels like) chemistry between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif is one of the major highlights of everything we have seen so far.

EXCLUSIVE! Producer Atul Agnihotri promises eternal romance in Bharat, says, ‘Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif will grow old together in the film’

ven director Ali Abbas Zafar swears by it. In a recent sit-down with us, the filmmaker opened up about why he doesn’t write love scenes for the duo in the film. When asked about the same and how we wants to keep it organic, he said, “They have such a tremendous unspoken chemistry. As soon as you see, Salman and Katrina together the reaction usually is ‘Oh, my God. They’re made for each other’. On top of that, if you write a love scene you start looking like a cliché.”

Not just that, when probed further about what is the thing or the factor that makes Salman and Katrina’s pair such a big hit with the masses, Ali credited it to their real-life relationship over the years. “They are very comfortable with each other. They have been friends for a good 14-15 years and somewhere or the other when you share a conversation with people and not think that he is Salman, or she is Katrina, it just becomes normal. That’s the virtue.” And we gotta say, it really shows.

Earlier, he had opened up about their energy in the song Aithey Aa. “Usually, in such a set-up in Hindi films, you see the boy teasing the girl, but because Katrina has a strong character as strong as Salman’s, the whole song was written from the point of view of women teasing the men,” Ali had told Mumbai Mirror.

Besides Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, Bharat also stars Sunil Grover, Tabu, Jackie Shroff, Aasif Sheikh, Sonali Kulkarni, Disha Patani and Nora Fatehi in supporting roles. Produced jointly by Atul Agnihotri, Alvira Khan Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, Bharat is slated for release on June 5.
